Za’atar is a Middle Eastern spice blend that gives dishes an intriguing, slightly sour taste. The mixture includes thyme, ground sumac and roasted sesame seeds.

Za’atar marinade perfectly complements grilled poultry and fish, and can also be widely used in vegetarian dishes, e.g. as an addition to chickpeas or eggplant. It is also perfect on pita bread or as a dressing with a bit of olive oil.
